Softer direction changes while rastering
Quote from Rob Hertlein on March 9, 2021, 5:01 amI have a K40 with the Mini Gerbil and Lightburn. Wondering if there is a setting that will soften the direction changes when rastering? I have adjusted overscan and that helps with keeping raster lines from wavering at the ends, but I see nicer lasers raster and they seem to ramp the speed down slightly as they hit the limits at either end, making for less jarring and less movement of the entire body of the laser. Any setting that would do that, either in Lightburn or something to pass on to the Mini Gerbil?

That's a really great question, sorry I can't give you a comprehensive answer directly, I'll ping Paul to respond.
Am pretty confident overscan is something that's defined in Lightburn rather than a GRBL/Mini Gerbil feature. So what you're looking for may need to be a Lightburn feature request 🙂
Probably obvious, but in general, to soften the direction changes
- Lower the speed
- Increase the distance over which acc/deceleration occurs.
Cheers
