Pin out for air assist
I was wondering if there is a pin out I can configure for a relay to trigger air assist. I see lightburn looks like it will send the gcode. Is this something that can be done.

The M7 and M8 command do trigger outputs but they have not been wired to connectors on the board due to cost and size of the board.
However you can remap existing pins and swap functions like pause/resume with M7 or M8 outputs. This require to reflash the board and a firmware remap of the pins. Let me know if you want to do so. A few users have done this before.

I received a few days my Mini Gerbil and I have to say it's great!
I would also be interested in connecting the air assist so as to control it from Lightburn. Right now I'm checking it manually but it's very inconvenient.

It is possible to remap the existing pause/resume/safety door pins to the M7/8 air assist command. So you basically trade a control function in for another function. However this requires an update of the firmware (we have done this for others before) and you have to reflash the mini Gerbil board. (ST-V2 LINK programmer - which are available at eBay for around $2 or you can order it from me). The ST LinkV004 utility can be downloaded from ST.com When you flash the Mini Gerbil, you just erase it first.
