$ Settings setup hassle

Hi everyone i'm having quite alot of hassle with my new board not moving anything, i have led's lit up on board loaded picture into lightburn, but says laser busy or paused, no movement from gantry, x or y, has anyone got a full list they can copy paste in reply that actually work on the k40 with lightburn, so i can paste them into my own settings, this is driving me nuts, with one bad board that tied me up for days, then waiting for a replacement, which then powered up but works nothing, not so plug and play these boards are they. my settings are below. shows Alarm 8, then error 9, tried xy which shows pnxyzab, tried to move it via lightburn done nothing but sit there. one last stab at this tomorrow before return to base for refund, and go to c3d.

Try changing $10=1 to see if that helps.  I had a problem with Lightburn if X was within 10mm of Home it would go busy and never respond when $10=31.  IDK if it's same problem you have or not but worth fixing anyway.

Also do a search on the forums for the Alarms & Errors your seeing I know there is some information regarding them however I've never received any unless I stop a job abruptly I will get the error 9.   As for your other settings they appear similar to mine so nothing other than $10 is obvious to me.

i had a similar issue when installing my gerbil board a couple of days ago, turns out that the home switches were wired different than what was shown so i would get busy errors all the time, i could move one axis after a $x but trying to move a different one would get me a busy and i would have to power off and on. after i corrected wiring most issues disappeared except finding correct direction for zeroing. i have older board with mechanical switches and power supply with white plugs. i will get my settings for you later today.

Electronic Limits $27=2.5

Mechanical limits $27=4

$27=physical hysteresis between the point of engaging and disengaging. Switches don't engage and disengage at the same physical point.

Also when the machine homes and cannot find it's home it raises an Alarm 8 and you need to wait for a few seconds for the process to complement.

My gantry does not lock, as if the board is not sending any info to lock it, sorry did not realise anyone had replied to the thread, i've turned on notification, my switches are wired but not sure how to tell if they are right or wrong way round, as they both worked with old board and k40 Whisperer, they would stop it, i will defo try the $27=2.5 so far i've tried from 1 through to 6 even 8, when i move gantry and try test to see where x & y read, it says the same regardless of position, turned off auto home in setting no different, will not run any gcode, when i enter it in the bar where i enter any $ settings, head against a wall with this, the only thing that has improved is no more Alarm 8, after i turned off auto home.

Cheers

try doing a $x in console then try manually moving axis, this should allow control ready and also lock gantry. sorry about lag in getting my settings to you. hopefully get it done tonight

is $x not the command to unlock the gantry, i'm off work tomorrow Tuesday to give this one last go its wasting far to much time so far after work, hopefully get it sorted by then. thanks for reply

i believe that $x will actually bring controller up and ready bypassing alarm then gantry should lock, go into moves tab and try arrow keys to see if axis will jog. just make sure gantry is in center and not against an edge in case you move wrong way.

this helped me find my issues.

Do you have a picture of what wiring you done and how it was on your switches buddy

Thanks for the help but this is not for me this gerbil, way to time consuming to set up return address requested.
