J Tech laser tool inkscape plugin questions

All the blog posts I've seen show a homing option, the beta version that is available on github leaves that option out. Was there a reason for this?

Also, the raster plugin seems to have a problem that I can't figure out yet. I think the symptom is that if I let the image complete and the plugin homes at the end of a job, the next job does not home properly (it seems to be using the previous output as the new home). If I cycle power and restart the job then it seems to home correctly (to 0,0).

Im not complaining.. I am loving playing with this. I will be setting up safety/pause/resume switches, etc.

I'm still messing with the $30 setting, but starting to understand it.  The greyscale offset/compression settings took a little to absorb.. but I get them now.

Thanks for all the work you have done on this..

Thanks Shawn, I will look into the plugin on Github/paulujacobus and fix the homing checkbox. Somehow it must have fallen out which is disappointing, my apologies for that. I will keep you posted on that.

I found the proper files at my inkscape extensions folder, so I zipped them up. Have not been able to test these since I am not at my office today. Let me know if this works. Just remove the .pdf extension which I use to upload the file here (.zip is not accepted...P)

Enjoy!

So... I downloaded the 'fixed' version, as I was having the same issue with no homing option on the vector tool. Unfortunately, after installing the 'fixed' version, I'm getting other errors.

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "laser.py," in line 48, in <module>

from svgpathtools import *

ImportError: No module named svgpathtools

Hi, the svgpathtool.py library is missing so I will upload that library to the download page https://github.com/paulusjacobus/awesome.tech

It can be downloaded from https://pypi.org/project/svgpathtools/

Let me know if that works,

Cheers, Paul
