Error messages

Hello, recently my mini gerbil on my laser cutter has been having some issues and I don't know why. I get door 0 and door 2 alarms a lot and then the engraving stops.

I don't have a door switch thing installed so I don't know why I'm getting those codes, is there a way to fix this? It was working fine for almost a month but now this has recently started happening. Im using lightburn.

I also sometimes get a restoring spindle command and frequently get the check door message, sometimes an error 1 or 2 when trying to engrave also along with the door alarms.

Thanks,

Casey

Hi Casey, these are typical electrical noise issues. See if you can rewire or add a capacitor (5V 100micro farad) to the 5VDC power terminals or set JP1 in the 5VUSB position. Let me know if this helps otherwise we swap the board out.

Hello Paul, thanks for the reply. As I don't have any capacitors I was gonna do the JP1 in the 5VUSB position and I was wondering if you mean to just wire those two together or what?

Thanks,

Casey

I have been messaging Dan and he responded saying that he's gonna get a replacement out.
Hope that solves all the problems because I love the board.

Hi Coen, yes I saw Dan's email so all good. Hopefully it fixes the issue. Cheers!

Hello, I got the new board today and got everything hooked up and it was almost perfect. Everything was working for a while and I was able to get some good test engravings and I thought everything was gonna work out and then came the errors. I didn't change anything wiring wise or settings wise but for some reason, after a bit, I was unable to engrave anything. It isn't like last time with the homing errors but I am getting random restoring spindle errors along with some 1 and 2 error codes. I looked that up and I saw something about grounding etc where the power supply wasn't grounded and some about static electricity and so I was wondering if that could be the problem. In one of the posts, the guy said that the grounding was connected right and such but the power supply wasn't connected to the ground and he just wired it to it and I was wondering how I would go about checking that. For the static electricity the person was told to use a Controller shield but when I search that up nothing comes up that's relevant.

Thanks,
Casey

Ended up checking all my wiring and getting a cable that's meant to block some sort of electric single or something like that(don't remember the exact terminology). So far it's working fine with no error or alarm codes.
