Changed $ values

Quote from FillDeeUK on December 18, 2019, 7:03 amI have changed the $30 and 110,11 values, via LaserWeb (server running on a Pi, client on my laptop) on my Legacy Gerbil, but if I leave it powered off for any length of time (a couple of hours or so) then they seem to go back to the default. Anybody got any idea why?
Thanks in advance
Phil

Quote from Paul on December 18, 2019, 9:08 amHi Phil,
I have come across this issue only once. Check whether there is a $RST=* command in Laserweb (initialisation script or start up lines).
Another reason could be that the memory gets corrupted (checksum) and Grbl goes back to the defaults. This is possible by a power glitch when powering up the machine. Maybe try to power the legacy Gerbil board via a 9V battery and see if that solves the issue. If it does that you might need to power the board from a separate power supply or add some capacitors to the power line to reduce the start up spikes. (EMI filter)
Cheers, Paul

Quote from Paul on December 23, 2019, 10:33 amI suspect that a supply spike does corrupt the settings. May be leave the board under power and see if it does reset or not. If it does that we probably have a power spike issue.

Quote from FillDeeUK on December 25, 2019, 3:59 amI can easily power the gerbil from another PSU to test that easy enough. Where might the RST command be in LaserWeb exactly?
Thanks

Thanks
