Can MG3 be used with a Synrad laser?

Quote from Kevin Criqui on September 26, 2022, 9:48 amI have a laser machine with an ancient controller that I'd like to upgrade with a MG3. It has a 25W Synrad laser. Those need a tickle current - a low duty cycle PWM even when the laser 'off'. What is the PWM duty cycle when the minimum power is set to a low value?

good question. Fortunately the $31 setting does what you want! It controls the minimum amount of PWM when the laser is off. So for example if your S max value in lightburn was 1000, and your $31=10, then you would have 1% duty cycle when off (10/1000).
Please read What are $ settings for more background if needed.
Here's a random video I found that's somewhat related - describes what minimum power setting does.
Hope this helps?

Dan
