Laser not firing
Quote from chouw99 on March 18, 2018, 9:16 pmHi
I bought and installed a Gerbil controller a week ago and have trouble getting the laser to fire. The laser flickrs as normal when connecting to the port but won't turn on when running g-code. The wires are connected properly according to the instructions and I have disconnected the wire that goes to the manual pot. on the k40 and installed a connector that goes to the Gerbil controller.
I'm using both Laserweb and CNCjs and have followed the steps on configuring the machine. Not sure what's wrong. Please advise.
Let me know if I need to upload any info.

pls, can you advise me what M codes you are using for the laser? M4 is laser on and M5 is laser off.
In laser web the default laser power setting is S=1 for 100% power. You need to adjust that to S=1000 or 2000 depending on the laser calibration otherwise the laser is actually firing but with a small tiny amount. S200= is about 2mA

Thank you. I'm using the settings as described and have laser on as M4 with Laserweb generating the g-codes. I have also uploaded the g-code file. Is this correct?
