This STEM Particle Accelerator kit is a whole weekend’s worth of fun to build, and from there you’ll be able to experiment and compete against others fine tuning and running experiments.  Containing printed circuit boards, electronic components, mechanical parts and Arduino microcontroller, you’ll need electronic assembly skills to put this together.  This kit is suitable for:

  • children aged 13-15 with adult supervision
  • aged 16+ unsupervised

The Awesome.Tech website includes a host of related webpages, including design notes, assembly instructions and user manual.

We met Dan a couple of years ago when he and Jo displayed at the San Francisco Maker Faire, and were lucky enough to get an early prototype kit before the Kickstarter Campaign. We built the kit, following the very detailed instructions provided with the parts. It was a very straightforward, and successful experiment. If you have a little bit of experience with soldering to begin with it helps, but if not, you can watch a YouTube video and learn everything you need to build the kit. We had a great time making the personal particle accelerator, and it was a blast to visit CERN this summer after building it to see how the pro’s do it! Thanks to Dan and Jo for doing such a great job on designing and building a great education kit.
