Laser control to Powe Supply

Definitely having some issues getting this into my machine, but the one Im really stuck on is the current control for the laser itself.  My power supply is nothing like the one in the video, so to attach the power looks like Ill have to cut wires?  I cant get my head close enough to see if this little connectors can be pulled apart, but to attach the new wire to where the pot is in would require me to cut wires.  Not sure how to disconnect that middle wire from the pot and use the supplied wire from there to the gerbil without cutting wires and making permanent changes.  Ive already gone back to my old board and K40Whisperer until I can get this figured out. Is there a return policy? So far the only thing that I can install without making permanent changes (cutting wires) is the lens 🙁

Looks like you have the same power supply that I do. There should be no issues with using the same connectors for the main power (big plug on the right), and for the laser PWM wire from the controller, just unplug the 3 wire connector that's going to the power potentiometer, and plug the PWM wire into the middle pin (IN).

So the other 2 wires from the pot dont have to be powered?  I can just unplug the whole plug? Thanks, Ill give it a try when I decide to try and reinstall the gerbil

Hi everyone.

I'm new to this group and would like information.

I don't know if this is the right place?

I damaged the flat cable of my k40.

Can anyone tell me where to buy the new one?

Thank you.

These cables are incredible difficult to find and the best I could find is RS-Online https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/ffc-fpc-jumper-cables/4682656/

The FCC cable specs are 1.25 mm pitch 12 way. The length might be a problem so try to buy the longest FCC cable and you might need to place the controller a bit closer to the gantry/work area. Even below the work table, there is plenty of space. Alternatively you can buy two lengths and make a interconnect board with vero board and two FCC connectors.  https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/fpc-connectors/7188772/

Can you take a picture of what you mean and post it?  I think I'm having the same problem and don't want to screw things up.
