Debugging guide

Hi, I wrote a simple debugging guide to help you to diagnose any installation issues:

Debugging the Controller set up

Feel free to add or suggest additional tests

Can you clarify the second last paragraph of the debugging guide...

So an S0 would give you 5V and S2048 would give you 0V.

Click on M3 or 4 to turn on and M5 to turn off in CNCjs and use the RPM to change the S parameter. S100 stands for 1 mA so S1000=10mA. Start small, like RPM 100 (S100=1mA).

The first part is obviously referring to the S value controlling the PWM voltage (5-0 for S values from 0 through to 2048)
The second part is referring to the S values as being equivalent to mA values.

What am I miss/misunderstand ing?

Thanks

You're right, there is only confusion about Voltage and mA.

Voltage = I refer to the average volatage on the PWM wire connection which can be anything between 0 and 5V.

mA = I refer to the current on the current panel meter (current driven thru the tube).

So basically the PWM signal (voltage) drives the Laser Power supply which generates a certain current (anything between 1 and 18 mA) that is proportional with the PWM signal.
