Help with connecting from a HT-Master-6 board to Gerbil

Hi everyone,

I'm the proud owner of one of the newer models K40, the K40D laser

It is working fine, and today I received my ordered Gerbil Pro-Pack.

If I look at the instructions I found out that I do not have any flatcable on the mainboard. In fact the board is a HT-Master-6 and info about it is not very common.

Can someone help me how I should hookup the cables from thew HT-Master-6 board to the Gerbil?

Setting the power is digital, not analog

John

Hi John, amazing a new board I have not seen before. Best is to track the cabling down to see what they connect to:

- X-axis motor 4 leads (A/A- and B/B-)

-Y-axis motor 4 leads

- 5v and gnd

-24V and gnd

- X limit switch 2, 3 or 4 leads (2 mechanical or 3/4 electronic - 5v/gnd)

-Y limit switch same

- LO - Laser on 1 or 2 leads (1 LO and 1 gnd)

- IN or PWM 1, 2 of 3 leads (1 pwm, 1 for 5 volt, 1 for gnd)

Once you label these wires you can connect them to the Gerbil K40 shield (labels are on the silk screen). Let me know once you have labeled them.

Cheers, Paul awesome.tech

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your information/help

I will look at it and let you know.

John

Hello JohnA, Did you figure it out?

If not, can you also attach a close up picture of your power supply connections?

From the picture you attached, I can see how they have it hooked up.

The top plug is limits switches. Make sure you don't offset the plug onto the 5v pin, you may let the magic smoke out.

Next two plugs, X stepper and Y stepper, respectively.

Now the last 2 plugs, that is different, there is no 5v, but two 24v, LO and gnd. That is why I would like to see a pic of your power supply. Also, to see where the PWM pin should be.

While I have not looked at the drawings for the gerbil, I am assuming that the 5v is for power to the gerbil, you DO NOT want to plug one of those 24v wires onto the 5v pin ( again the magic smoke may be let out ).

You may be able to power the gerbil through the usb cable and not use the 5v pin at all, just a guess there.

So, to sum up my rambling, if you are comfortable with rearranging the way the wires go into the different plugs, it should be easy enough to fix.

Disregard this if you have figured it out,

GMonsey
